Requirements for Published Articles

1. General Provisions

1.1. In accordance with the requirements of the Law of the Russian Federation “On Mass Media”, it is prohibited to use the Journal for the purpose of committing criminal offenses, for disclosing information constituting a State or other secret specially protected by law, for calling for the seizure of power, the violent change of the constitutional order and the integrity of the State, for inciting national, class, social, or religious intolerance or discord, for propaganda of war, pornography, or the cult of violence and cruelty.

Advertising and erotic materials are not published or posted in the magazine.

1.2. Only original scientific articles, which content corresponds to the passport of one of the scientific specialties, with account for the goals, specifics, and industry focus of the journal, are subject to publication.

1.3. A scientific and technical journal is focused on publishing the results of specific research. The article must, in substance and not just in form, comply with the requirements for the IMRAD structure (Introduction, Materials and methods, Results and Discussion), in particular:

  • the introduction should briefly outline the status of the issue you are considering in Russia and the world (with references to current results obtained by other authors engaged in research on this or a similar topic), the statement of the problem being solved in the article, its novelty and relevance, the method for solving the problem and the assumptions made should be formulated;
  • the article must clearly present the specific scientific results obtained (regularities, designs, mechanisms, algorithms, methods, techniques, etc.);
  • the results of the proposed method (regularities, algorithm, etc.) application to a specific object (group of objects) are recommended to be reflected in the form of a completed computation, experiment, etc.;
  • it is necessary to compare in the conclusions the obtained results with the previously known ones.

1.4. An article published in the Journal consists of the following sequentially arranged elements in Russian:

  • Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) index;
  • article title;
  • authors' last names and initials;
  • information about the authors (full name, place of work, position held, contacts, ORCID);
  • abstract;
  • keywords;
  • acknowledgement, financing (if necessary);
  • text of the article;
  • references.

1.5. The block in English contains:

  • the article title in English;
  • information about the authors (full name, place of work, position held, contacts, ORCID) in English;
  • Abstract in English;
  • Annotation in Russian (for the abstract checking);
  • Keywords;
  • References.

1.6. The volume of published articles should not exceed 24 pages in 14-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced.

2. Preparation of the article materials

2.1. The article is prepared in accordance with the State Standard Р 7.0.7–2021.

2.2. The article text formatting should comply with the following parameters:

  • paper size: A4 (297 mm ´ 210 mm);
  • margins:

    • upper – 20 mm;
    • lower – 20 mm;
    • left – 20 mm;
    • right – 10 mm;
  • line spacing – double;
  • paragraph inden – 1,25 cm;
  • alignment by page width.

2.3. Section titles – bold, centered on the page, continuous numbering.

2.4. The elements of the article should be formatted in accordance with the following requirements:

2.4.1. Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) index.

Alignment to the left of the page.

2.4.2. The article tittle.

Should not contain shortcut and abbreviation.

The font is bold, size 16 pt, centered on the page.

2.4.3. The authors’ surnames and initials

Bold font, centered on page.

2.4.4. Information about authors.

Include the following information about each author (in the order listed in section 2.4.3):

  • surname, first name and patronymic in full;
  • name and legal address of the organization in which the author works;
  • job title;
  • academic degree;
  • academic title (if different from the job title);
  • academic status (academician, corresponding member) in a State Academy of Sciences – if any;
  • contacts (e-mail, mobile phone);
  • Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) – if any.

It is necessary to indicate the corresponding author.

2.4.5. Abstract

Contains a brief summary of the article's subject. This is an advertisement for the article, as it is freely available in electronic search and indexing databases.

According to the State Standard Р 7.0.99 the abstract volume should not exceed 250 words.

2.4.6. Keywords

Used for the articles indexing and searching in electronic databases. They should be relevant to the article's topic and reflect its subject and terminological scope. Avoid using words with overly broad meanings, generalized or polysemantic words, or words containing participial phrases.

The number of keywords should not be less than three and more than ten.

Given in lowercase letters, separated by commas.

The total length of one keyword is no more than 100 characters.

2.4.7. If necessary, the following are provided:

  • preceded by the word Acknowledgement: words of gratitude to the organizations (institutions), scientific supervisors and other persons who provided assistance in preparing the article;
  • preceded by the word Funding: information about grants, funding for the preparation and publication of the article, projects, research projects, within the framework of which or as a result of which the article was published.

2.4.8. Text of the article.

The text of the article should be presented in Russian; for articles by foreign authors, presentation in English is permitted.

Conventional symbols and abbreviations found in the text should be explained at their first appearance in the text.

Units of physical quantities used in the article should be included in the International System of Units (SI) and indicated in Cyrillic (in Russian).

All formulas are formatted centered on the page. Formula numbers are continuous and placed on the right.

Tables should be positioned within the workspace. When moving a table to another page, the table header should also be moved. The table number is continuous and aligned to the right edge of the page, and the table title is centered.

Figures are placed directly within the text of the article, following the logical flow of the text, and are accompanied by captions. Figures are numbered continuously. Each figure is also submitted as a separate file in .tiff or .eps format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

The index numbers of all pages of the article text are placed at the bottom of the page, aligned to the right edge of the page.

2.4.9. References

It is an uninterrupted continuation of the text and page numbers of the article.

References are being compiled in accordance with the State Standard Р 7.0.5-2008 requirements, and consists of separate bibliographical references, arranged in the order of their mention in the article.

Titles of the materials published in a foreign language, as well as the names of their authors, should be given in the original language.

Unpublished materials, as well as the materials that are not in the public domain, should not be included into references.

References to outdated results and excessive self-citations should be avoided.

Bibliographic references in the references list should include the following information:

  • for the book: last names and initials of all authors; the full title of the book, city and a name of publisher; date of publication; the total number of pages in the book;
  • for journal articles: the last names and initials of all authors; the full title of the article; the full name of the journal, series (if any), year, volume, issue number, page numbers engaged by the article (starting and ending), and e-mail address (DOI or URL);for articles in a collection: the last names and initials of all authors; the full title of the article; the full title of the collection, city and name of the publisher, year of publication, page numbers engaged by the article (starting and ending), and e-mail address (DOI or URL);
  • for standards: standard number, standard title, city and name of publisher, year of publication, total number of pages;
  • for patent documents: the last names and initials of all authors; the title of the invention; the patent number; the number of the official bulletin and the date of its publication;
  • for dissertations: the author's last name and initials, the full title of the dissertation; the academic degree for which the dissertation is submitted; the city, place and year of defense; the number of pages of the dissertation;
  • for electronic resources - the last names and initials of all authors, the full title of the material, the date of publication, and the electronic address (URL).

3. Procedure of article materials submitting for publication

The corresponding author sends the following materials to the journal's editorial office in electronic form:

  • article proposed for publication in the journal (.docx);
  • the block in English (.docx);
  • as many files in the tiff or eps format, as the number of figures in the article, with resolution no less than 300 dpi;
  • scan of the first page of the article signed by all authors a with signature transcript and date (.pdf);
  • scan of the first page of the block in English signed by all authors a with signature transcript and date (.pdf);
  • scan of the Expert opinion on the possibility of publishing the article in the open press with the round blue seal of the organization (.pdf).
